What kind of book have you written? If it’s a thriller and your protagonist is a naturopath, your audience lies among naturalists, herbalists, massage therapists, etc. These are your keywords. Find bulletin boards where these topics are discussed and tap into the audience. But be savvy. Many bulletin boards have rules of conduct and they don’t approve of shameless hucksters. You can also use those keywords to run ads on the internet, as you can do through Google AdWords. You should already have signed on with an analytics service that will track traffic to your website; where it came from, how long it stayed, etc. AdWords or a similar service, like ExactSeek, can target web browsers that touch upon your keywords. 1. Be correct.

In your English classes, year by year you are thought on how to construct sentences in such a manner that it would be understandable and in correct composition. In writing, you should be correct with your grammar. Your subjects should agree with your verbs. This is just the basic to get understood on the point you would like to express.

2. Be concise.

Once you become correct with your grammar that you feel like you’re the most expert on it, you should also be concise. Beating around the bush will do no good for you. You should be straight to your point to avoid confusion. This also applies to reporters who write so many words that readers no longer understand the point carried across. Be straightforward.

3. Be consistent.

Correct composition of sentences and concise points are not enough to be hailed as a good writer. In the composition of your article you should also be consistent of your stand. There should be coherence in the flow of your thoughts. Your article should be like a river that is flows in a straight to the sea. Each idea should relate to the other.

4. Be complete.

You may be coherent about your ideas but you should also take into consideration that the ideas you express should have a complete thought. The whole article should express a complete idea. Each sentence should have a complete thought that relates to the other ideas within the article. Completeness comes when you are consistent with your message.

Use these guidelines and you’ll see how much improvement you have attained. There will still be uncertainty involved and if ever this happens so you may consult your writing checker tools. Those tools help professional writers to do their job in a clean and simple way on a daily basis. Proofreaders need them to proofread, English teachers need them to correct student writings, English tutors need them to prepare their lessons, ESL students to prepare for their writing exams and of course English students to craft their documents.
